The design that started it all. Blue Wonder is Maggie Lam's signature work — a toile de jouy born from long afternoons in Cornwall Park, Auckland, where Kowhai and cherry blossom grow beside ancient oaks and the Southern Cross appears on clear nights above the canopy. Hand-drawn in Maggie's New Zealand studio and printed on a premium iridescent substrate at a historic wallpaper manufacturer in England, this is the piece collectors come to first.
In Midnight Blue, the pattern finds its truest expression — cool, considered, and quietly commanding. The iridescent finish ensures it reads differently at dawn than it does by lamplight.

Every artist has a work they return to. For Maggie, it is this one.
Blue Wonder began as a personal drawing, an attempt to capture the particular quality of light and life in Cornwall Park, one of Auckland's most beloved green spaces. Kowhai trees in flower. Cherry blossom in spring. Families of lambs under the oak shade. And hidden within the composition, if you look carefully, the five stars of the Southern Cross which is the constellation of the southern sky that has guided navigators home to Aotearoa for centuries.
The toile de jouy tradition has always been about narrative — walls that tell a story rather than simply fill a space. Blue Wonder carries that tradition into a distinctly New Zealand voice. It is at once deeply familiar to anyone who knows Cornwall Park, and entirely transportable to any room in the world.
In Midnight Blue, the design is presented in its most classic form. Crisp, refined, and rendered with the soft lustre that only mica-pigment iridescent printing can achieve.
This is the beginning of the Maggie Lam collection.
Hanging Instructions
Each roll contains 3 panels/ drops (A B C) that repeat continuously around a room. Each drop measures 70cm wide x 300cm/3m high. The full height of the drops is 300cm/ 3m so will fit walls with this maximum height.
This toile de joy pattern is inspired by the national park that Maggie and her family love to visit often. The design takes you to the park where you can find many lush and beautiful trees including Kowhai, cherry blossom and oak trees. Look closely you will find the southern cross which is a constellation of the southern sky in the design. This design becomes a signature and most favourable design in Maggie's collections.
Wallpaper mural is printed on high quality non-woven paper with iridescent finish. The mica pigment provide soft lustre and depth to the design.
