Beautiful Gift was born in the green heart of Auckland — in Cornwall Park, where Kowhai and cherry blossom stand side by side, and where the Southern Cross is visible on clear nights through the oak canopy. It is a place Maggie returns to often, to walk, to observe, and to draw.
The design is rooted in the toile de jouy tradition — a centuries-old form of narrative wallcovering that transforms a wall into a scene. Here, that scene is unmistakably New Zealand: lambs in dappled light, ancient trees in full leaf, and hidden in the pattern if you look closely, the five stars of the Southern Cross.
Colour was chosen not for trend but for feeling. The iridescent finish catches light differently through the day — a living quality that flat printing cannot replicate.
This is a wall covering for rooms that tell a story.
Hanging Instructions
Each roll contains 3 panels/ drops (A B C) that repeat continuously around a room. Each drop measures 70cm wide x 300cm/3m high. The full height of the drops is 300cm/ 3m so will fit walls with this maximum height.
This design is a playful version of the original Blue Wonder design. Blue Wonder is toile de joy pattern is inspired by tAuckland's Cornwall Park where Maggie and her family love to visit often. The design takes you to the park where you can find many lush and beautiful trees including Kowhai, cherry blossom and oak trees. Look closely you will find the southern cross which is a constellation of the southern sky in the design. While Blue Wonder becomes a signature and most favourable design in Maggie's collections, Beautiful Gift is a colourful version of the Blue Wonder.
Wallpaper mural is printed on high quality non-woven paper with iridescent finish. The mica pigment provide soft lustre and depth to the design.
Our wallpapers are printed at a historic wallpaper manufacturer in England. Each and every single wallpaper mural is carefully designed and crafted to the highest quality. The wallpaper mural is pre-trimmed and easy to hang straight on the wall with a light and ready mixed paste for "paste-the-wall" application.
Hanging instructions are included with every roll and to be followed by the installer before hanging. We recommend you to check the direction of the pattern before hanging.
